Our Story
Veteran & Woman Owned Family Business
Vibe Otter was born from a kitchen table, a growing Instagram following, and one very frustrated mom.
It all started when Laura launched "lettuceturnupthebeets," an Instagram account sharing kid-friendly recipes with parents looking for creative ways to get their little ones excited about healthy food. As her following grew, so did the requests: "Where can I find all your recipes in one place?"
Nick suggested a website. Simple enough, right?
Wrong. She quickly discovered what so many small business owners and dreamers face: professional web design costs thousands of dollars, pricing out the very people who need it most. The alternative? DIY website builders that promise ease but deliver endless frustration. Laura tried platform after platform, spending hours wrestling with clunky templates and confusing interfaces. What was supposed to be a simple project started eating into her nights and weekends. Sound familiar? That's the trap—before you know it, "self-taught web designer" becomes your unwanted second job.
That's when Nick, her husband and a veteran with extensive coding experience, stepped in. He built Laura custom tools that handled the heavy lifting, finally giving her the freedom to create the website she'd been envisioning all along.
And then it clicked.
Laura and Nick made a decision: they left corporate America behind and turned their solution into a shared mission. If they could solve this problem for Laura, they could solve it for others too.
That was a while ago now. What started with a frustrated mom and a wonderfully clever husband has grown into Vibe Otter—a veteran and woman-owned family business dedicated to making professional, affordable web design a reality for small businesses and dreamers everywhere.
